Estudo comparativo dos efeitos das compensações série e paralelo na proteção de Linhas de Transmissão

The FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) devices have great use in the Electric Power System (EPS) for dynamic control of active and reactive powers system. This work deals with a comparative analysis between effects caused distance protection transmission lines (TLs) by two these devices: STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) SSSC Series Compensator). objective is to verify how connections converters, connected series case parallel STATCOM, influence characteristics relation range relay. Computational simulations were made using PSCAD/EMTDC software where both electrical system under modeled zones one defined. After section was protected, inserted short circuits phases phase ground applied, presence absence analysis. Once on simulation environment verified, laboratory tests carried out ensure compliance among results.
